Quick description: Flintheath is hosting the Fighting Pits tournaments to raise £££ for the Principality Travel Fund.
How it works: Tournaments for both rattan and rapier are a bearpit-style, where the holder of the pit retains wounds from round to round, until defeated. Each time a combatant enters the pit, they will roll the Dice of Doom. The Dice will assign them their fighting style for the duration of their time in the pit. Combatants receive 1 point for every fight in the pit, and one additional point for every win.
HOWEVER . . . both combatants and spectators can have a say in the outcomes by purchasing up to five pit tokens at £1 each. Spectators can spend up to two tokens per round to make combatants roll the Dice of Doom again. Combatants can spend one token per round to buy themselves another roll of the Dice.
RATTAN RULES: mixed weapons (no spears), wounds retained, bearpit, 60-120 minutes with rest breaks as necessary. If a fighter is not authorised in the weapons style assigned them by the Dice of Doom, they default to one weapon, with no shield.
RAPIER RULES: approved weapon forms are single sword, sword and dagger, sword and rigid parry, sword and non rigid parry, and 2 swords (no spears or rubber band guns). If a fencer is not authorised in the weapons style assigned them by the Dice of Doom, they default to single sword.

100% of the revenue from the Fighting Pits of Flintheath is being donated to the Travel Fund.
